A-PET-CARE Canine Distemper test (CDV test) for dogs can be performed at home and does NOT necessarily require any additional equipment.
This at-home test for Distemper works with dog’s secretions sample (ocular, nasal, pharyngeal, or anus), as well as blood serum or plasma sample.
You can use this at-home CDV test for dogs either with the secretions sample or with a blood serum / plasma sample.
To use the CDV test kit with a secretions sample, no additional equipment is required, everything is included.
If you decide to run the test with a serum or plasma sample instead, a syringe and centrifuge will be required.
Syringes are NOT included in this CDV test kit for dogs.

HOW TO TEST FOR CANINE DISTEMPER (CDV) AT HOME:
Checking your dog at home for Canine Distemper virus (CDV) is very simple. Just collect fresh secretions sample of your dog (ocular, nasal, pharyngeal, or anus) with the included swab stick. Then follow the included instructions. All the necessary equipment is included if you run the test with a secretions sample. However, you will need a syringe and a centrifuge to run the test with a serum sample or plasma sample. From the moment you obtain the sample, the test takes not more than 10-20 minutes to complete. After you perform the test, the results are available at place in 10 min. This is a complete ‘at-home’ dog CDV test, no need to send it out to the lab. HOW DOES A-PET-CARE ONE STEP CANINE DISTEMPER (CDV) TEST KIT WORK:
A-PET-CARE One Step Canine Distemper Test Kit (CDV Ag) is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFIA). The test device has a testing window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough Distemper virus antigen in the sample, a visible T line will appear in the window. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. This means that the testing device accurately indicates the presence of Canine Distemper antigen in the sample.

Results are ready in 5-10 minutes.
